What is up with writer’s being scammed these days? Why can’t we just be left in peace to do what we love? Fraudsters will always find a way to scam anyone and they will get the karma they deserve.

Anyway, back to my story.

On Twitter, I had started to promote my stories more which has led to me receiving a lot more followers. One of those followers is called Lucas Bush.

After seeing he was a freelancer, I followed back as this is the correct crowd of following and followers I’m trying to attract. Immediately, he messaged me asking if I was open to writing opportunities. My sixth sense immediately kicked in and I had a strong feeling it was going to be some scam.

Lucas does not have a picture of himself as his profile picture, does not have a link to Medium, has no recent tweets, rarely tweets anyway and barely has any interaction with any accounts.

Nonetheless, I was interested to what he was going to offer me, so I said that I was open to writing opportunities.

He sent me a link to www.energycitizens.org and stated that this is a freelance writing opportunity which specialises in mental health, environment, history, energy, oil and gas. It pays…
