My colleague’s mother passed away last week, and surprisingly, she didn’t shed one tear or even look remotely upset. This is strange behaviour for someone who claims to not have had a damaged relationship with their mother. How can one deal with death so well?

I asked her how she was so calm about it, and her response was that death her opinion is death is fairly strange. In her opinion, death is the same as going to a better place.

Most people who are religious and spiritual share this view. So how does her view differ?

She said that ‘going to a better place’ is not necessarily going to heaven or hell, then proceeded to shock me and talk about how in her opinion, she views Earth as hell.

Allow to explain, because her theory is valid.

Humans are living beings on Earth. It’s a blessing we have a chance here to love, to procreate, to experience, to do good and to view the beauty of Earth.

However, we suffer greatly. We suffer with loss of anything and everything. A lover, family, a friend, a pet, financial loss and materialistic loss. Even loss of a materialistic item can drive one crazy.
